Parking & Accessibility

Parking
Parking is available in the museum lot at the corner of Peabody Drive and Sixth Street. On weekends and every day after 6 pm, parking is free. Monday–Friday until 6 pm, parking is metered. Designated museum parking is also available at the front of the museum on Peabody Drive. When using these spaces, please request a window parking pass from the attendant in the lobby.

Accessibility
The Kinkead Pavilion entrance on Sixth Street is wheelchair accessible, with automated doors and a wheelchair available for visitors who need additional assistance. Seated walkers are also available for guests.

Disabled permit parking is available near the east entrance on Sixth Street.

Elevators are located both in the Kinkead Pavilion and in the lobby near the Peabody Street entrance. Accessible restrooms are located on the main level in the Kinkead Pavilion and on the far south side of the lower level.

From Interstate 57:
Exit at University Avenue and drive east to Mattis Avenue.
Turn right onto Mattis and drive south to Kirby Avenue.
Turn left onto Kirby and drive east to First Street.
Turn left onto First Street, just before State Farm Center and Memorial Stadium, and drive north one block to Peabody Drive.
Turn right onto Peabody Drive. Krannert Art Museum is two blocks down, on the north side of the street.

From Interstate 74:
Exit at Neil Street and drive south 2.4 miles to Kirby Avenue.
Turn left onto Kirby Avenue and drive east to First Street.
Turn left onto First Street, just before State Farm Center and Memorial Stadium, and drive north one block to Peabody Drive.
Turn right onto Peabody Drive. Krannert Art Museum is two blocks down on the north side of the street.



How do I get to the KAM Auditorium/KAM 62?

Peabody Entrance to KAM

First, come in the Peabody Street entrance of the museum.
It is the only entrance through which you can carry your backpack.
(If you come in through the Kinkead Pavilion on 6th street,
you'll have to stow your bookbag in a locker.)
Check out the campus map to find the Peabody entrance.


Lobby view, Room 62

Walk through the lobby, past the Palette Café.
Grab a coffee or a snack if you like, but please do it on your way OUT.
There is no food or drink allowed in the museum.
Head toward the large installation of graffiti art by John "CRASH" Matos.
(You can't miss it.)


Stairwell, Room 62

Head down the stairs to the lower level of the museum.
Once you're there, look for the KAM Auditorium (room 62) on your right.

Note: Students, faculty or guests with mobility issues, there is an accessible entrance on Sixth Street (the Kinkead Pavilion entrance) with an elevator in the Bow Gallery for your use. If you need help, please ask museum personnel. We're ready to assist you.
